Ross Watts is a conceptual artist whose work incorporates language, mathematics, nature and philosophy viewed through the lens of minimalist art and design. Introspective and tactile, meaning becomes manifest through graphic paintings made of tar paper, burlap, and plaster, subtle drawings composed of handwritten texts, and poetic sculptures of books carved into stones or buried in plaster cubes. Watts has a BFA from The University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
