Ryan McGinley began making photographs in 1998 while living in New York City. At age 25, he was one of the youngest artists to have a show at the Whitney Museum of American Art: The Kids Are Alright, 2003. In 2007, McGinley was awarded the Young Photographer Infinity Award by the International Center of Photography. He has had solo shows at MoMA P.S.1 in New York, 2004, in Spain at the MUSAC in Leon, 2005. In 2005, he was the laureate of the Rencontres d'Arles Discovery Award. McGinley's work is featured in public collections in the Guggenheim Museum, New York; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; and the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York. McGinley is represented by Team Gallery in NYC, Ratio 3 Gallery in San Francisco, Alison Jaques in London and Bischoff Projects in Frankfurt, Germany.
